Tips for Productivity & Inspiration

The first two months of the year turned out to be really productive for me. We changed the layout of the blog, and I’m preparing new posts. I’d like to talk about not only about fashion, traveling, and beauty. As Coco Chanel says, “Fashion is not about that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with the ideas, the way we live, what is happening”. So I want to talk about things that inspire us and make us happy. Also, the interviews are coming back to the blog! 🙂

How to be more productive?

1. Clean your space.

If you don’t have much time, at least make sure to tidy up your desk space. Get rid of all the unnecessary pieces of paper, food leftovers, etc. Change things a little – put your pens and pencils on the other side of the desk, put some books and/or magazines that inspire you. If you have more time however, clean your room and decorate your things a little more differently than usual. Move some furniture if necessary. Visual change will always help. Also, if you are at home, make sure to dress up a little. Your mind will definitely work more effectively when you are dressed up for work, rather than for a nap.

2. Get a planner or a cork desk

Find your way to tidy your goals and tasks. Use the cork desk wisely – both for inspiration & motivation. Take some time and put some photos of beautiful destinations you have visited or want to visit, pictures with your friends, as well as your to-do list.

3. Change the location

Sometimes we give our best, but things don’t workout the way we want them to. The good news is a lot more people work from cafés, libraries, or in the park. The cold weather is more than perfect for a hot drink at a new place. Also, when people around you are working, you are, more or less, forced to do so too!

What inspires me?

Actually this is quite a subjective matter. Since all of us have different interests, we are inspired by different things. But having in mind that you are reading my blog, I’m assuming that our interests might match.

1.  Have a Walk & Visit a New Place

When I’m really tired and I need a breath of fresh air, I go out and walk. I try different routes, look at the buildings, the shops of the windows, the people, flowers, animals. When I see a really good-looking lady I’m immediately inspired to have a similar style one day and walk with the same amount of confidence as her. Or when I see a lovely decorated store, or a cute flower shop. Or an adorable cat or dog. Doesn’t matter if they are big or small – they can all inspire you if you open your eyes.

2. A Nice Read & a Favorite Drink

As cliched as it sounds. Read books which make you feel happy and rejuvenated. If you find it hard to find the time to read, or simply to want to read, you haven’t found the right book. Believe me – there is one for every taste! And if you still don’t feel like reading a book – find a good magazine, a well-curated blog or a good article online.

3. Do Something Creative

Everybody knows what they can do when it comes to creativity. And options are endless. When you feel like drawing, but you find it hard to think of something particular to paint – buy a coloring book for adults. It’s so relaxing and you can hang some of your creations around the house, or gift them! Flick through an old magazine, find your favorite pages and make a collage! Get a notebook and write something! Creativty knows no borders. So do ideas. Make use of this.

If you really want motivation: observe those who you name as competition. Take a look at what they do, how they do it, who admires them, and think of what more you can give and what you can do differently. Do not fight against them. Be inspired by what they have created. Your best competition is yourslef. Admit your mistakes, name your achievements and make steps every day (tip-toe if you must). You will get there!
